TO HELP customers with their heating bills and making their properties more energy efficient, Adra Housing Association will trial a new innovative technology in one of its latest improvement schemes.
Works are planned for 14 properties at Gwelfor, Rhosgadfan near Caernarfon.
Adra will be trialling innovative technology called “NexGen Heating”.
NexGen is a new, unique radiant heating technology that provides extremely efficient low cost, high-energy, warming a room using radiant far infrared rather than conventional gas radiators or electric heaters.
To complement the new technology, Adra will also be installing solar PVs and battery storage, as well as some traditional fabric first approaches like external wall insulation, loft insulation, rendering and new windows.
The work will be part-funded through Welsh Government’s Optimised Retrofit Programme.
Mathew Gosset, assistant director of assets, said: “At Adra we are committed to making our homes more energy efficient and this project in Rhosgadfan is a prime example where we are using the latest technology as part of the investment in maintaining our current stock of homes.
“Making our homes more energy efficient will assist our customers when it comes to the cost of heating their homes, especially during this cost-of-living crisis.
“This makes our investment extremely worthwhile, and we sincerely hope our customers will benefit from this.”
