A CHARITY motorbike ride in Gwynedd saw more than £1,300 raised for an organisation supporting young people in the county and in Anglesey suffering from cancer.
Beicwyr Llyn Bikers led a group of 153 motorcyclists on Sunday (April 23), with a raffle on the day also contributing to the funds raised for “Gafael Llaw”.
The ride started at Y Maes, Pwllheli at 11am, before stopping at Snowdonia Parc for lunch, and then finishing at Plas Heli Sailing Club at about 3.45pm.

Eifion Roberts, chairperson of Beicwyr Llyn Bikers, said the day went “brilliantly”, with “great weather, great support around the route, and people waving and recording us”.
He added: “We chose Gafael Llaw because it is a local charity and after meeting with the committee, we knew we had chosen the right cause because of the brilliant work they are doing.
“We hope to present a cheque to Gafael Llaw in August or September, when all of the pennies are in from the donations and our online auction.”

The biking group will also be holding a bingo night at Pwllheli Golf Club in June to raise further funds for the charity.
In the past, the bikers have supported other numerous charities, such as Breast Cancer Care, the Wales Air Ambulance, and the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team.
More than £60,000 has been raised through the group’s charity work since 2010.
