Police who spotted a bag of cannabis as they helped a woman move items from a house in Anglesey had then discovered further drugs worth more than £70,000, a court heard today.
Richard Williams, 54, of Powell Road, Buckley, who said he was “minding” the drugs, in debt and scared of someone, was jailed for two-and-a-half years at Caernarfon crown court.

He admitted possessing 2,650 ecstasy tablets and cannabis at Llanfair PG with intent to supply.
Defence counsel Simon Rogers said Williams wasn’t aware of the amount of drugs in his possession.
“He was vulnerable to exploitation due to debt,” the barrister remarked.
His mobile phone had no messages about the sale of drugs. “He bitterly regrets his involvement,” Mr Rogers said.
The lawyer told the judge, Recorder John Philpotts, the offending was in February 2021 and the delay in a straightforward case was “unacceptable.”
