LIFEBOAT volunteers and the Coastguard were called to a yacht in the Menai Straits.
Beaumaris lifeboat were alerted by the Coastguard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at 10.28pm on Saturday, April 15 to a vessel reported aground and alight near Church Island.
A spokesperson for Beaumaris lifeboat said: "The local Mobile Coastguard team at Bangor together with the Penmon Mobile Coastguard team were also been tasked.
"With the close proximity of the casualty to the base of the Bangor team, they quickly reported that the craft was the same as one previously reported on the rocks a few days previously when she had broken free from her moorings in the high winds.
"In addition, they advised that due to the low tide the boat could be reached from the shore and that on one was aboard.
"In view of this information, the lifeboat was asked to wait on her trailer at the shoreline as her presence may not be required.
"This was confirmed and the coastguard teams together with the North Wales Fire and Rescue services would deal with this incident."
A RNLI spokesman said: "A fire onboard any vessel is particularly dangerous and the sooner the emergency services get to the incident the better, fortunately in this instance our presence was ultimately not required."
