A MAN has been arrested in relation to a theft of a herd of cattle from a farm on Anglesey.
On December 10, 2022, 14 cows valued at about £20,000 were reported to have been stolen from a shed on a farm on the outskirts of Llanerch-y-Medd.
Following an extensive investigation by North Wales Police’s Rural Crime Team, warrants were executed yesterday (April 12) at two farming locations in Stoke-on-Trent in connection to the incident.
Rural Crime Team officers, supported by the drone unit and officers from Stoke, Cheshire Rural Crime Team and the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service attended the two locations, where a John Deere tractor reported stolen from the Staffordshire area last year was also recovered.
A man was arrested in connection with the theft of the cattle and the tractor, and later released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Pete Evans, of the Rural Crime Team, said: “With the assistance of our drone unit and colleagues from Stoke, Cheshire and the collaboration of Rural Payments and British Cattle Movement Service, we were able to identify and seize all the suspected stolen cattle.
“Whilst at the location, we also located and recovered a John Deere tractor stolen from the Staffordshire area last year.
