A PUB on Anglesey boasting “one of the finest views in Wales” has welcomed hundreds of guests through the door following a multi-million pound investment.
The Victoria overlooks the Menai Strait and reopened on April 12, after a major refurbishment.
This included an extension to the pub, the creation of an outside bar, new outdoor terrace and a high-quality redesign both inside and out.
The pub in Menai Bridge, part of the Chef & Brewer collection, has 17 bedrooms, some with beautiful sea views, which are already proving popular with guests.
General manager, Adam Cook, said the opening day had been a great success and everyone was looking forward to the future.
“It has been fantastic to welcome guests to the Victoria once again,” he said.
“Everyone was amazed to see the transformation and it really feels like a brand new start for such a well-loved part of the community here in Menai Bridge.
“We have made an effort to keep as many original features as possible, along with restoring original furniture, to maintain the Victoria’s character and charm.
“The quality of the revamp has been first-class and the pub looks absolutely beautiful, from the warm and cosy bar, to the newly-extended dining area looking out over the Menai Strait, and each carefully-crafted bedroom.
“But perhaps the most impressive feature is our dining terrace, which must have one of the finest views in Wales, and is now even more stunning than it was before.
“The outdoor bar and heaters make it just a wonderful place to eat, drink and spend time with friends and family.”
The improvement project started in October 2022, following the acquisition of the Victoria by Greene King as part of the Chef & Brewer collection of country pubs.
Adam said bookings for both dining and accommodation had been busy, and he expected interest to rise even further following the reopening.
“A lot of time and effort has gone into every tiny detail, and each of our bedrooms is comfortable and luxurious,” he said.
“We reconfigured some of the ground floor space to create more accessible bedrooms, and all ground floor rooms are dog friendly so guests are very welcome to bring their four-legged friends with them.
“Bookings have been very strong and we look forward to welcoming guests old and new over the coming days, weeks and months.”
