MORE than 60 members of staff at a newly-refurbished Anglesey pub overlooking the Menai Strait are putting the finishing touches in place before opening the doors next week.
The Victoria, in Menai Bridge, part of the Chef & Brewer collection, has been completely overhauled in a multi-million improvement project.
Set to open on Wednesday, 12 April, the carefully designed interiors and stunning garden and terrace will provide the perfect spot to eat, drink and relax.
General manager Adam Cook said staff had undergone training at Chef & Brewer pubs and hotels across the UK and everyone was excited about reopening.

He said bookings for both tables and hotel rooms had been very strong in the lead-up to opening day with people travelling hundreds of miles to stay in the revamped hotel.
“It’s difficult to describe just how much of a transformation it has been, and we can’t wait to welcome guests back through the doors,” he said.
“The Victoria is now a beautiful place to relax with friends and family, with seasonal food, luxurious accommodation and a warm, welcoming atmosphere all year round.
“The excitement within Menai Bridge and surrounding areas has been building and we are now just a few days away. We have spoken to so many people who just can’t wait to walk through the doors again and enjoy a drink and a meal and enjoy those stunning views.
“The extension overlooking the Strait gives that much needed extra space and we are sure people will be walking around trying to remember where everything was previously! The refurbishment is everything we wished for and looks stunning.
“Our fabulous team of over 60 have worked hard throughout their training since October and are looking forward to seeing everyone again. Our guests will be able to reunite with our wonderful team who have worked here for many years previously and will get the opportunity to meet our fabulous new staff too.
“We are advising people to book in advance if they would like to dine with us as bookings have been really busy over the past few weeks as anticipation builds.”
A “local hero” will cut the ribbon and be treated to a VIP goody bag including a voucher to enjoy an experience at the new pub.
Adam said: “We know the Victoria has always been an integral part of Menai Bridge and we are pleased to be maintaining its place at the heart of the community.

“We were really keen to involve local residents in the celebrations. We are asking people to tell us their own story as to why they should officially cut the ribbon at the Victoria on Wednesday.
“I hope the winner enjoys being our VIP guest and I am very much looking forward to giving them a tour of our new-look hotel, bar and restaurant.”
The Victoria overlooks the Menai Strait and much of the refurbishment project has been designed to make the most of its enviable location.
The pub has been extended and the bar opened up to create a lighter, more welcoming space.
An outside bar has been created in the gardens, now complete with outdoor heaters to make guests comfortable regardless of the weather.
The hotel accommodation has also been completely overhauled, with some bedrooms being reconfigured to create a range of accessible rooms on the ground floor.
The improvement project started in October 2022, following the acquisition of the Victoria by Greene King as part of the Chef & Brewer collection of country pubs.
