AN AEROBATIC display plane took to the skies of North Wales earlier this week.

The BAC 167 Strikemaster, a British jet-powered training and light attack aircraft, could be seen flying over the coastline on April 3 and 4.

This was as a practice flight before it appears at air shows across the country later this year.

Numerous Rhyl residents saw the aircraft flying over the town:

A Strikemaster Display UK spokesperson said: “We were flying in North Wales on Monday and Tuesday.

“We do so from time to time for practice prior to the display season, but do not announce the flights or publish where we plan to or have flown over.

“For those that enjoyed seeing a historic aircraft flying, we are very pleased they saw it.”
