A MAN from Holyhead has been jailed following VAWG (violence against women and girls) offences.
Michael Ashcroft, of Holyhead, appeared at Caernarfon Magistrates Court yesterday (April 4) and was charged with two occasions of assault, intentional strangulation, and harassment.
He received a sentence of 36 weeks’ imprisonment, and was also issued with a restraining order.
PC 3530 said: “We welcome yesterday’s sentence that demonstrates that violence against women and girls remains a top priority for North Wales Police.
“We thank the victim for coming forward and supporting this investigation. They have shown incredible bravery throughout.
“We would encourage anyone to report incidents of violence to the police either via our website, by calling 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
