A MAN has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for committing online grooming offences while living in Gwynedd.
Hugh Stanley Holt, 56, from the Blackpool area, appeared at Preston Crown Court today (March 20), charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

He also received sex offenders register notification requirements for life.
Holt had been arrested on suspicion of committing online offences whilst living in the Llanberis area in January 2022.
Detective Constable Dominique Swift said: “We are pleased with the sentencing today which demonstrates that online offences are real and do have the same consequences as other physical offences.
"We are dedicated to keeping the communities of North Wales safe, be that online or offline, and continue to investigate any reports of indecent behaviour.”
