A MAN from Gwynedd was jailed after admitting to seven offences, including the possession of a firearm.

Benjamin Roberts, 38, of Ceiri Terrace, Llanaelhaearn, was accused of the following:

  • Possessing a Glock 17 air pistol in Pwllheli on September 9, 2022 during the operational period of a suspended sentence.
  • Possessing a quantity of amphetamine at Caernarfon Custody on September 9.
  • Using threatening behaviour at Y Maes, Pwllheli on October 25.
  • Assaulting David Creamer by beating him at Y Maes, Pwllheli on October 25.
  • Damaging a wing mirror worth £412 belonging to Wynne Price in Llanaelhaearn on October 25.
  • Damaging a window belonging to Grŵp Cynefin housing association at Ceiri Terrace on October 26.
  • Assaulting PC Sara Jones by beating her on November 27 in Trefor, in what was described as a racially aggravated offence.

He pleaded guilty to all of the above offences.

Roberts was sentenced to 16 weeks’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on January 23.

The firearm and the amphetamine were both ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.

In addition, the court handed Roberts a three-year criminal behaviour order, prohibiting him from using threatening or abusive language or behaviour in public in England or Wales.

He will pay £100 in compensation.
