A WOMAN from Gwynedd has received restraining orders after admitting to a racially aggravated offence.
Michaela Cassidy, 54, of Ffordd Y Felin, Dolgellau, was accused of the following in Dolgellau on September 15, 2022:
- Targeting racial abuse at Ernest Hughes, with intent to provoke or cause fear of unlawful violence upon him.
- Using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to Jonathan Levitt, intending to cause him harassment, alarm or distress.
She gave an indicated plea of guilty to the former, and pleaded guilty to the latter, at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on January 19.
Cassidy was handed two restraining orders and a curfew.
The court prohibited her from contacting Hughes and Levitt directly or indirectly, including via a third party or social media, until January 18, 2025.
She must remain at her home address between 4pm and 8am every day until May 18.
Cassidy is to pay compensation of £100, costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a £114 surcharge.
This totalled £299, to be paid as a full lump sum within 28 days.
