A PIZZA restaurant and bar is set to open in Caernarfon tomorrow (January 5), as the owner promises an “authentic” Italian experience.
Tân, at 5 Palace Street, will be open Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm-9pm and is next door to the existing Wal Italian restaurant.
Wal and Tân are both owned by John Tyrell, who along with head chef Liam noticed that Caernarfon was missing a dedicated Italian pizzeria.
So for the last year, they turned their attention to getting Tân up and running.
"Here at Tân we offer an authentic Italian experience in the heart of Caernarfon for a reasonable price,” said John.
“Our delicious, hand-stretched pizzas are made using traditional Italian ingredients and baked in our hand-built pizza oven.”

All Tân pizzas will be hand-rolled, Neapolitan style – made with either San Marzano tomatoes or Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio and mozzarella.
The restaurant will use a hand built woodfire oven, using only the highest quality Caputo flour and Fior Di Latte mozzarella, as well as a wide range of fresh Italian toppings.
Classic cocktails, pints, soft drinks and other beverages will be available at the bar, accompanied by traditional Italian cocktails and a planned espresso machine.
John added: “When our guests book in, they don't necessarily book a table, in a sense, they book "oven space" or a take-away slot.
“As well as bringing an Italian flare to Caernarfon, we believe that Tân will also bring value into the community with new job opportunities.”
“We are really looking forward to opening our doors and hope to see you there. Buon appetito!"
