STRICTLY Come Dancing's Hamza Yassin has made the semi-final of the competition.

The Strictly Come Dancing contestants mostly received positive feedback from the judges in the latest week of the competition [aired Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3].

Both Coronation Street actor Will Mellor and presenter Helen Skelton received the top scores from the judges with both getting 39 points during musicals week.

Both Fleur East and fellow singer Molly Rainford earned 38 points for their performances while wildlife cameraman, Yassin, earned a score of 36 points for his samba to They Live In You from The Lion King with his professional partner Jowita Przystal.

The 32-year-old, who graduated from Bangor University with a BSc in Zoology with Conservation in 2011, got a standing ovation from Mabuse who said he made her “happy” as Du Beke said he was “a bit overwhelmed” by the performance.

Horwood said it was “brilliant” but criticised Yassin for some of his technique.

    Former Hear’Say singer Kym Marsh, who returned to the dancefloor after she had to skip last week’s show after a positive Covid-19 test, was elimated from the show after coming bottom of the leaderboard with 34 points.

The presenter, 46, faced Rainford in the dance-off.

After discovering her fate, Marsh spoke of wanting to make her father, who has been receiving treatment in hospital following a prostate cancer diagnosis, happy.

She said: “My dad has been so proud and it’s kind of kept him going.

“When he was in hospital last week, and obviously we weren’t here, all these guys sent him videos and it meant such a lot.

“My grandchildren are so proud.”
