A CRIME author based in North Wales is to release the next book in his new series, set in Anglesey, early next year.

“In Too Deep”, published by Avon, will be available to purchase on January 5, 2023.

Before that, he worked in film and TV, as a scriptwriter for shows such as Eastenders, Midsummer Murders and The Bill.

Million-selling crime author signs deal for new Anglesey series

His book series set in Snowdonia has sold more than a million copies, and a television show based on it will begin shooting in the area in 2023.

The series features ex-hostage negotiator Laura Hart, who returns to the force as a DI to head up an explosive investigation just two months after her son’s kidnap.

On her first day, an anonymous tip-off leads to the discovery of a skeleton in a crumbling castle ruin near the seaside town of Beaumaris.

Laura can’t wait to prove herself by solving the case, and when the investigation leads her to MI5 and the real IRA, she knows she’s on the trail of something truly explosive.

But some people will do anything to stop their secrets coming out – as the rising body count attests to.

The first in Simon’s series, “The Dark Isle” (Avon), was released in May.

Simon’s first book, “The Snowdonia Killings”, was released in January 2020 and soon became a bestseller, reaching number one in the UK Kindle Chart and selling more than 250,000 copies.
