A BANGOR resident has shared some impressive photos he took of lightning flashing across the sky above the city on Wednesday evening (October 19).
Simon Murray said he took the photos at about midnight, adding that he had, by then, expected such a spectacle that night.
Simon said: "I was right in the middle of Bangor city centre; these were taken at about midnight.
"It was probably the best thunderstorm I've witnessed, in terms of duration and frequency.
"Being at night, you could see it coming for at least an hour prior!"
