A HOTEL in Menai Bridge has donated furniture, bedding and other items to North Wales charities as it clears the decks ahead of a major refurbishment.

The Victoria Hotel closed on Monday (October 17) and is being completely overhauled as part of a multi-million pound investment project.

This will include newly landscaped gardens, a full refurbishment of the restaurant, a reconfiguration and full renovation to the existing bedrooms, and high quality fixtures and fittings throughout.

As a result, all of the existing hotel bedding and furniture, along with decorative items such as pictures and ornaments, have either been given to community groups or sold, with all proceeds going to charity.

General manager Adam Cook, said: “It’s going to be a massive job, with improvements made from top to bottom, so we have had to clear everything out.

“We had quite a lot of bedding and furniture which we were really keen to put to good use, so they have been donated to a local homeless charity and local animal shelters.

“Additional items from around the bar, restaurant and hotel, such as paintings, photographs and other nick-nacks are being sold, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

“Everyone at the hotel is incredibly excited to see the refurbishment project getting under way, and we can’t wait to welcome you back once the renovations are complete in spring 2023.”

The hotel will reopen as part of the Chef & Brewer Collection, principally remaining as a community hotel and restaurant, welcoming guests from the local area and those visiting the beautiful North Wales coast.
