A photographer had the opportunity of catching Anglesey's Red Squirrels in all their mischievous glory earlier this week.

And it was something of a dream come true for Marcus Roberts..

On Wednesday, October 12, that dream came true for the 17-year-old from Mold as he travelled to Anglesey to get up close to the Eurasian Red Squirrels living on the island.

Reporter Arron Evans joined Marcus at the Dingle Nature Reserves in Llangefni where - despite the rain - the squirrels scurried around frequently right in front of them.

They ventured deeper into the Dingle to discover a site created by Hugh Rowlands and, having only been there minutes, spotted their first red squirrel who eagerly rushed over to grab one of the hazelnuts put on offer on a piece of bark. 

Red squirrels are considered a near threatened species in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and are now absent from most parts of the UK - with the grey squirrel contributing to its decline.

Joined by members of the Red Squirrel Survival Trust (RSST), Marcus donned his trusty Canon camera to capture some fantastic pictures of the squirrels.
