A MAN from Holyhead has received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to assault in the town.
Darren Maguire, 51, of Lon Crecrist, Trearddur Bay, was accused of assaulting Edward Chapman on December 14, 2021, causing him actual bodily harm.
He pleaded guilty at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on September 1.
Maguire was sentenced to 26 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months.
He is also to complete 100 hours’ unpaid work and a maximum of 20 days’ rehabilitation activity.
Maguire will pay £200 in compensation, £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £128 victim surcharge.
This amounted to a total of £413, which he will pay as a full lump sum within 28 days.
