A former Bangor University student has released a new book, which follows a private investigator in a dystopian, independent Wales.
Astrid and the Girl in the Tangerine Dress, by Alan Roderick, sees private investigator Astrid Price trace the elusive Girl in the Tangerine Dress, as well as the missing first recording of the Welsh National Anthem.
The story takes place in the Welsh Republic, which is now independent from the rest of the UK, with the story taking place in Casnewydd (Newport) and Maendy, both in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The story focuses on themes of mystery, betrayal, redemption, love and loss.

Mr Roderick was a student at Bangor University, ansd later lived in the city with his wife before moving to South Wales, where he settled in Newport.
With unique black and white illustrations by artist Ella J Wilding, the vibrant cover and catchy title draw the reader in.
The book’s plotlines are constantly interweaving, which makes for an unpredictable turn of events and ending.
The book is the second instalment in the author’s Astrid Price series.
Astrid and the Girl in the Tangerine Dress is available as a 400-page paperback book for £10 or as an e-book for £5.
