AN HISTORIC pub and hotel in Bala has been listed for sale.
The White Lion Royal Hotel, located in Bala’s town centre, has gone on the market for £650,000 with estate agent Sidney Phillips.
The hotel dates back to 1752, and was originally built as a coaching inn.
It soon adopted the word ‘Royal’ into its name after Queen Victoria visited in 1889.
Located in a perfect position on the town’s high street, the pub was taken on by brewery and pub group Brains in 2008, but due to the damage done by the Covid-19 pandemic, is among those to be offloaded by the pub chain.
The estate agents describe the hotel as a “character 26 bedroom hotel in a busy tourist town” located next to Wales’ largest natural lake, Llyn Tegid.
The site also includes a lounge bar, restaurant and private dining room, as well as outside seating, a car park and outbuildings with scope for future development.
