A crewless fishing boat was found by Moelfre Lifeboat volunteers after being spotted drifting one mile northeast of Point Lynas off Anglesey.
An all-weather lifeboat (ALB) launched at 08:09am yesterday (August 15) and made good speed towards the last known location of the casualty vessel.
Once on the scene, the lifeboat crew reported that no one was onboard the casualty vessel.
After an extensive search and investigation, it was established that the fishing vessel had slipped its mooring at Traeth Bychan, and was promptly towed back to a safe mooring at Amlwch Port.
Second Coxswain Martin Jones said: "I would like to thank the station volunteers for the excellent response to both shouts and would also urge all boat owners to ensure all vessel moorings are secure even in the calmest of weather.”
