A MAN from Caernarfon has been fined and received a suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to possession of a sharp object in public and two drug-driving related offences.
Liam Hankey, 21, of Upper Llandwrog, was accused of the following while on Oldham Street, Liverpool on July 5, 2020:
• Carrying a kitchen knife unlawfully.
• Driving a Ford Fiesta vehicle with 3.7 micrograms per litre of blood of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC - the cannabinoid molecule in marijuana).
• Driving a Ford Fiesta vehicle with 64 micrograms per litre of blood of Benzoylecgonine (the main metabolite of cocaine).
He pleaded guilty to the two drug-driving offences, and gave an indicated plea of guilty to carrying a kitchen knife unlawfully, at Wirral Magistrates’ Court on August 8.

Mr Hankey was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment, suspended for one year.
For carrying a kitchen knife, he was also told to pay £128 as a victim surcharge, and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
This amounted to a total of £213, which he is to pay by September 9.
The court ordered that the knife be forfeited and destroyed.
He was also disqualified from driving for one year.
