A MAN is to serve a ban from the roads and complete unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to drink-driving while in Gwynedd.

Damian Crilly, 59, of School Lane, Broomfield, Chelmsford, was accused of driving a black BMW between Pont-rug and Caeathro on July 13 with 120 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

He pleaded guilty at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on August 1.

Mr Crilly is to complete 200 hours of unpaid work by July 1, 2023.

The court also disqualified him from driving for 30 months; though, this will be reduced by 30 weeks should he complete an obligatory course by May 5, 2024.

He is also to undertake a maximum of 10 days’ rehabilitation activity.

Mr Crilly will also pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a £114 victim surcharge.

This amounted to a total of £199, which he is to pay in full by August 29.
