WRESTLING kept the crowd at Holyhead Festival entertained and a local hero was crowned a new champion in the process.

The Fusion Pro Wrestling stars took to the ring at the Newry Beach marquee on Sunday, July 31.

The likes of favourites such as Levi Brooks and Joey Marcus impressed, while Gustan Las Lamparas provided the whackiness to get fans fired up.

Meanwhile, the infamous Kreaper retained his Grand Champion title in the thrilling main event against Khaos.

But the biggest moment of the show arguably came following the battle royale finale.

Anglesey's own Ben Evans was the last man standing in that but then went one step further to win the Hardcore championships straight after that.

Evans hit the code-breaker on Jack Thorn and pinned him to become the new champion, winning his first-ever title.

A statement from Fusion Pro Wrestling following the event read: "Fusion Pro Management would like to say thank you to all the talent that took to the ring today at Holyhead Carnival. We have been booked again for next year as they were so impressed by each and every one of you. We are proud beyond words by your continued growth and commitment to Fusion Pro.

"We are planning another show on the island very soon, so keep training and if you're not regularly training don’t be disappointed if not picked. Our job is to keep you all safe, we are here to promote YOU not ourselves, and your safety is paramount."

This year, Fusion Pro (previously CCW) is celebrating 10 years of wrestling in North Wales.

It currently runs training sessions in Rhyl and Llandudno where it trains the up and coming talent.
