A MAN from Holyhead has been banned from the roads and fined after he was found guilty of possession of a Class A drug and of drink-driving.
James Owen, 33, of Rock Street, was accused of the following:
• Driving a Vauxhall vehicle on Beach Road, Holyhead, with 73 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, on May 28.
• Possessing a quantity of cocaine at Caernarfon Police Station on May 29.
He pleaded guilty to both offences at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on July 18.

Mr Owen was banned from driving for 20 months, though this will be reduced by 20 weeks should he complete an obligatory course by August 29, 2023.
He received fines of £530 for drink-driving, and £442 for cocaine possession.
In addition, Mr Owen must pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £97 victim surcharge.
This amounted to a total of £1,154, which he is to pay in full by August 15.
The court also ordered that the cocaine be forfeited and destroyed.
