A “club legend” has shaved his head for charity, raising more than £1,500 for the Little Princess Trust.
Richard Roberts, who plays as a forward for Aberffraw Football Club (known locally as Berffro), had been growing his hair since the first Covid-19 lockdown, but felt the time and reason was right for a change.
Shaving off his long locks at the weekend, Mr Roberts has donated the cut hair to the Little Princess Trust, who provide wigs to children with cancer to restore their confidence and sense of identity.
On his fundraising page, Mr Roberts said he had “pledged” to donate it when his hair grew long enough, adding that he had “had some stick over the past two and a bit years, especially from opposition football teams”.
His sponsored hair cut has now raised £1,502 for the Little Princess Trust.
