A social club in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll celebrated the centenary birthday of one of its members, as the club start to reconvene following the pandemic.
Rene Parry, who was born and grew up in Liverpool, celebrated her 100th birthday with an event at the Monday at Eight club on June 20, having been a founding member in 1968.
Ms Parry had all the ladies at the club laughing with her countless stories, as she recalled poems, sang a song and even danced away, showing age is just a number.
The centenarian’s advice to others was “If you want to live as long as me keep breathing!”
The Monday at Eight club hadn’t met up until very recently, and went for an end of year lunch at the Penrhos Arms on Monday (June 27), with plans for a welcome buffet for new members on September 12 in the chapel vestry of Capel Rhos y Gad, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.
