A PAIR of Anglesey takeaways have received low food hygiene ratings after inspections, with one told that there is “major improvement necessary”.
Red Chilli, in Holyhead, scored one-out-of-five, while Bengal Hut, in Benllech, received a rating of two.
At Red Chilli, the management of food safety was rated “major improvement necessary”.
This involves the checks to ensure food is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and that the food safety officer was confident that such standards will be maintained.

Its hygienic handling of food, including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage, was rated “improvement necessary”.
Though, its cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building was rated “good”.
Bengal Hut’s cleanliness and condition of its facilities was rated “improvement necessary”.
But its hygienic handling of food and management of food safety were both rated “generally satisfactory”.
Both were inspected on May 18.
Of Anglesey's 70 takeaways with ratings, 53 have scored five and none have zero.
