A MAN from Holyhead has been jailed and handed a restraining order after he was found guilty of assaulting a woman, causing her actual bodily harm.

Gary Owen, 33, of Nimrod Walk, was accused of assaulting Kerry Norris at his home address on May 7.

On June 1, Llandudno Magistrates’ Court heard how Mr Owen threw a phone at Norris’ face and placed a hand around her neck.

He was found guilty, and sentenced to 34 weeks’ imprisonment.

Until May 31, 2027, Mr Owen must also not:

• Contact directly or indirectly, or approach Norris, by any means whatsoever, with childcare to be dealt with through a third party, social services or order of the family court.

• Enter, or attempt to enter, any property occupied by Norris.

• Enter a specified Holyhead street.

No order was made by the court for Mr Owen to pay costs of any sort.
