A MAN from Pwllheli has been sentenced to prison after he was found guilty of assaulting police officers and criminal damage to property.
Gethin Williams, 52, of Cae Dafis, was accused of the following:
• Assaulting PC Roberts-Thomas and PS Halstead by beating them in Pwllheli on May 22.
• Damaging an interior cell light of a Peugeot police car in Pwllheli on May 22.
• Damaging a police cell in Caernarfon on May 23.
At Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on May 24, Mr Williams received a 20-week concurrent prison sentence.

It was felt that only a custodial sentence could be justified due to his previous convictions and his use of spitting.
The sentence was also uplifted for 16 weeks due to his offences involving emergency workers.
Mr Williams is also to pay a £128 victim surcharge in full by August 2.
