A CRASH involving two vehicles in Bangor yesterday evening (May 30) resulted in one person being taken to hospital.

This was on Holyhead Road, with emergency services called shortly after 7.45pm.

The person, one of five involved, was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd for further treatment.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent two appliances to the incident, before a stop was called at roughly 9pm.

A service spokesperson said: “Two appliances attended – (the crash involved) two vehicles (and) five casualties.

“Crews assisted with the extrication of one casualty and ensuring in care of ambulance staff.

“A stop was called at 8.59pm.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called yesterday (May 30) at 7.49pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.

“We sent one emergency ambulance and one rapid response vehicle to the scene.

“One person was transported to Ysbyty Gwynedd for further treatment.”

A North Wales Police spokesperson added: "We received a call at 7.55pm from Welsh Ambulance Service reporting a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Holyhead Road, Bangor.

"Officers attended with colleagues from NWFRS and WAST.

"The road was closed whilst the incident was dealt with, and reopened at approximately 9.30pm."
