THE Royal Welsh Yacht Club at Porth yr Aur, Caernarfon will mark The Queen's Platinum Jubilee on the evening of June 2.
The Club will fire a canon and the light a beacon on top of the Porth yr Aur tower at 9.45pm, forming part of a wide network of beacons to be lit simultaneously around the country.
Neville Roberts, Honorary President of the Royal Welsh Yacht Club, will light the Beacon at the event managed by Rear Commodore, Liam Adams.
Club member Daniel Hanlon has also convened a small choir to sing the four part version of ‘A Song for the Commonwealth' from the tower.

Chris Jones, Commodore of the Royal Welsh Yacht Club commented: "This event marks a significant point in the 175th anniversary of the Club's Royal Patronage particularly since HRH The Prince of Wales recently agreed to take on the role following the demise of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
“I am grateful to the Lord Lieutenant for his support for this event.”
The public are invited to view the beacon from the Promenade between the Caernarfon Sailing Club and the Anglesey Arms or from Aber Foreshore Road.
To celebrate the Club’s 175th year, they will be holding an Anniversary Raffle to support the RNLI in Wales.
Tickets will be available at the beacon-lighting event.
