FIVE ladies from Anglesey Pickleball Club made the trip to Amsterdam to compete in the Dutch Pickleball Open.
Pickleball is a niche racket/paddle sport that was created by combining elements of several other racket sports, with its court similar to badminton, a net similar to tennis, and paddles similar to those in table tennis.
The Anglesey competitors faced up against nearly 300 competitors from across Europe and the US, including one player from Ukraine who had recently found safety in the Netherlands with his family from the war in his country.
The five ladies brought five medals back with them, in an impressive showing, showing the strength of the game in Wales’ Northernmost region.
The group said: “It was a truly amazing international event and the first time our Club had competed abroad.”
