GWYNEDD COUNCIL is staging a recruitment drop-in event to attract new staff for Bryn Blodau residential home in Llan Ffestiniog.
As part of a general campaign in the care sector due to its current recruitment challenges, the face-to-face event will be held at the Queens Hotel, Blaenau Ffestiniog on Wednesday, 25 May from 10am until 4pm.
Aled Davies, Head of Gwynedd Council’s Adults, Health and Wellbeing Department said: “As a Council, we are very proud of our dedicated staff who provide fantastic care to people in residential homes and in the community – their work makes a real difference to people’s lives every day.

“Ensuring that there are enough care staff is a challenge facing services across the country.
“As part of our ongoing recruitment drive, we are hosting a session for the Bryn Blodau home in Llan Ffestiniog – it will be an opportunity for prospective staff to hear about the work and learn about the benefits of working for the Council.
“It follows a similar successful recruitment event we held in Bangor recently and we hope that a number of people who are interested will come along to discuss and hear more.
“So, if you are someone who likes to help people and wants to make a big difference within your local community, I would encourage you to come along to the event on 25 May.”
The call-in recruitment event will be open to anyone who is keen to learn more about current opportunities within the home and other care services the Council has in the area in addition to learning about what the support the Council and the Department of Work and Pensions have to support individuals back into work.
On the day there will be an opportunity to hear about the benefits of working for the Council, information about training and support supported to new staff and a taste of care and what it’s like to work in a residential home, including a chance to chat with Bryn Blodau staff. After having a chat with everyone and if you wish we can support you to fill in an application form on the day too.
Anyone interested in finding out more about working in a residential home is welcome – the session will be open from 10am until 4pm on Wednesday, 25 May at the Queens Hotel, Blaenau Ffestiniog.
