NORTH Wales Police, working with McDonald’s, has launched a “Safe Haven” for young girls that may feel uncomfortable when out and about, or women fleeing domestic violence.
Sergeant Dylan Thomas, from the Holyhead Policing team, said: “In response to suggestions raised by a recent survey, we have identified an area for girls and women to flee when contacting police may be difficult.
“If you wish to speak to police about domestic violence simply when paying at the drive-thru or counter, ask to: ‘Speak to Ani’ or ‘Can I have a chat with Ani please?’
“You will then be directed to a private/safe area in the building, where a member of management will contact police.
“I would like to personally thank McDonald’s Holyhead for their support with this initiative and look forward to continue this working relationship going forward.”
