POLICE in Holyhead will receive a helping hand on patrols from Year 5 pupils from Ysgol Cybi.
Before Easter, more than 30 applicants from Year 5 at Ysgol Cybi Holyhead were interviewed to become mini police, and get the chance to work alongside their neighbourhood policing team.
Deputy Headmistress Rhian Grieves was also part of the interview panel whereby 20 mini police were selected.
Applicants had to complete a formal application form detailing their expressions of interest and what changes they would make to their community.

The successful mini police officers will be in uniform, joining the neighbourhood policing team on patrols, attending community meetings and will be completing local projects in the area.
PC 214 Lisa Thomas said: “The applications were completed to such a high standard and the enthusiasm from the pupils has been amazing, giving fantastic ideas in how we can make a difference to our Community in Holyhead.
“We congratulate all pupils who applied for the project.
“We would like to thank Ysgol Cybi for their support and look forward to welcoming our new mini police into their new roles when they attend their attestation at the beginning of May.”
