A FAMOUS café in Llanberis has been placed up for sale.
Pete’s Eats, started by Pete and Vicky Norton, has been on the High Street in Llanberis since 1978.
A famous mountaineering café, the café was notably included in a New York Times piece, having garnered attention for its unusual pints of tea and huge food portions.

One of the favourites among customers is the overwhelming ‘Big Jim’, an overwhelming breakfast that came about when climber Philip 'Jimmy' Jewel ordered a full breakfast.
However, staff misunderstood his Birmingham accent and brought four breakfasts, with the climber eating the resulting order and creating a tradition existing to this day.
Toby Harris, whose father Al helped set the café up 40 years before, bought the café in 2018.
The café and the connected Pete’s Sleeps Dorms are now on the market, with estate agent Haf, Jones & Pegler pricing it at £650,000.
Haf, Jones & Pegler said: "An opportunity to purchase Pete's Eats Café and Pete's Sleeps in the centre of the thriving village of Llanberis and is well position to take advantage of this busy tourist destination being a mecca for outdoor sports enthusiasts, holiday makers and especially those ascending Y Wyddfa/Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales.
“The Café has been trading since 1978 and its success is a testament to the owners."
