A LARGE fire is being dealt with by services at a peak on the Nantlle Ridge in Snowdonia.
This is at the Mynydd Tal-y-Mignedd, with those nearby advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
At 2.55pm today (March 23), North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We’re in attendance at a large fire in the open on Mynydd Tal y Mignedd in Gwynedd.
“Smoke is affecting the areas of Y Fron, Rhosgadfan and Rhostryfan.
“We’re monitoring the fire, but there remains considerable smoke in these areas, so (we) advise to keeping windows and doors closed."
A service spokesperson later said: "We were called to this incident initially at 12.26am" and that it is a fire "involving (a) large area of gorse and bracken."
The spokesperson added: "We are actively monitoring the situation as crews remain present at the scene."

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service also added: “Burning of heather, grass, bracken and gorse is permitted up until March 15 (or up to March 31 in upland areas), but you must have a Burn Plan in place to ensure they are burning safely.
“It is against the law to burn outside of the burning season and can result in penalties of up to £1,000.
“Deliberately setting fire to our countryside is not only a crime, for which you can be prosecuted, but it also places unnecessary pressure on front line services and puts our communities in harm’s way.
