A WOMAN from Holyhead has been made to pay in excess of £400 after she did not show her train ticket when asked to do so.
Abby Jones, 18, of Lon Garreg Fawr, Trearddur Bay, was travelling between Woodsmoor and Manchester Piccadilly railway stations when she failed to prove to an officer that she had paid her £4.40 train fare.
This was on October 15, 2021.

She was issued with a Penalty Fare Notice for whichever was greater between either £20 or twice the single fare.
As no payment or appeal was received within the 21-day window, a reminder letter was sent.
This was followed by a further reminder letter.
On March 4, Ms Jones was ordered by Manchester And Salford Magistrates' Court to pay a fine of £220, as well as compensation of £4.40, the value of the fare she did not prove she had paid.
She was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £34, and £150 towards the prosecution costs.
This amounted to a total of £408.40, which she was told to pay by April 1.
