WELSH music company The Devil’s Violin have announced plans to perform at the Canolfan Ucheldre Centre in Holyhead, Anglesey on May 21.
The group, notable for their blend of music and storytelling, will perform their new show ‘The Beast In Me’, a fascinating tapestry of interweaving tales from long ago.
The premise of the show is “A desperate soldier strikes a deal with a mysterious stranger. A battle between two magicians. A being that is neither human nor animal”, in what should be both a chilling and entertaining evening for the audience.
The Devil’s Violin were formed 15 years ago by a group of Welsh musicians and storytellers, made up of writer and performer Daniel Morden, composer and cellist Sarah Moody and co-composer and violinist Oliver Wilson-Dickson.
The production of The Beast In Me has also been generously supported by the Arts Council England Lottery Fund and the Arts Council of Wales.
The company’s previous work includes Stolen (2017-19), The Forbidden Door (2014–16), A Love Like Salt (2012–13), Singing Bones (2009–11), and the tale of The Devil’s Violin (2006–09).
A spokesperson for the Canolfan Ucheldre Centre said: “We are thrilled to have them here once more as they again are able to start touring.
“They aren’t performing anywhere else in North Wales at the moment.”
