A MULTI-VEHICLE crash has occurred on the newly opened Caernarfon and Bontnewydd bypass.
The road has only been open a matter of hours, but has already witnessed its first crash.
North Wales Police has said: "The A487 is closed from the Bontnewydd roundabout to the junction with Penybryn Road due to a road-traffic collision."
The road has since reopened.
The Welsh Ambulance Service has said it sent two emergency ambulances to the scene.
The 9.7km road, from the Goat roundabout at the A499/A487 junction in Dinas towards the Plas Menai roundabout in Y Felinheli, was set to open yesterday morning but a decision was made to postpone the opening by 24 hours due to Storm Eunice.
