A BIENNIAL competition and exhibition which aims to showcase the breadth of artistic talent in the region has announced the winners of its various competitions.
With prizes for Overall Best Work of Art, Best Painting, Best Drawing and Best 3D Work, the Anglesey exhibition invited amateur artists in the region to enter five of their own pieces.
A three-judge panel then selected the work that for the exhibition, which is open to the public at Anglesey’s flagship gallery, Oriel Ynys Môn until Sunday, 6 March.
Artist and contestant Judy Roberts said: “Every two years we are lucky enough that the gallery in Llangefni allows us amateur artists use the main, big room as an exhibition room.
“There were about six or seven different art clubs in Anglesey, all invited to submit five pieces of work.
“I think it’s hugely important, it gives everyone an incentive to work towards – it’s hugely rewarding to see your own work up there in a big gallery, and of course most of the work is for sale.”
