MENAI Science Park (M-SParc) has announced the launch of an accelerator programme for science and technology start-ups in North Wales, to drive the growth of innovative businesses in the region.

‘Sbardun’ is accepting applications now via the M-SParc website, and will offer a small cohort of ambitious founders access to a five-month programme of expert mentoring, powerful global connections and exclusive investment and networking opportunities, and more.

Helping ambitious business owners develop the skills, focus and confidence needed to lead a successful start-up, Sbardun will offer a comprehensive package of support, guidance and opportunities built on the foundations of M-SParc’s reputation of excellence in the region.

M-Sparc managing director Pryderi ap Rhisiart said: “It is incredibly exciting for M-SParc to be taking this step.

“Sbardun will transform the landscape for innovative businesses in the region and offer an all-encompassing package, arming the best and brightest founders in the region with the tools to take their business to the next level.

“We’ve helped secure millions of pounds of investment for our tenants over the years and provided business support of the highest quality, but the launch of Sbardun cements our ambition to take all of this to the next level and make a significant difference to businesses in the wider region.”

M-SParc is looking for founders that have ambitions to scale their business and are ready to get involved with a group of like-minded leaders.

They will need to demonstrate initial traction, be it through revenue, investment, customers or IP, and pitch plans for growth across the next six to 12 months.

The programme will be a hybrid of in-person and remote sessions, with it all kicking off March.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on February 17.
