A post on the university’s Facebook page read: “Great news, we've been ranked the 15th most sustainable University in the world at the 2021 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings!

“This news comes just days after we were also ranked ‘First Class’ in the People & Planet University Rankings.

“We are committed to sustainable development and global citizenship.

Bangor was also the third-highest-ranked university in the UK, with only the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University placed higher.
