Households in Gwynedd are receving a form asking residents to check whether the information that appears on the electoral register for that address is correct as part of Gwynedd Council’s annual canvass of households.
The aim is to ensure that the electoral register is up to date, and to identify any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.
With important Local Elections taking place in May 2022, this is an early opportunity for residents to make sure that they will be able to take part.
With 16-17 year olds and all nationalities now able to vote in local elections in Wales, this will be an important opportunity to ensure these new voters can get onto the electoral register before next year’s local government elections.
