A BANGOR college will soon embark on a new partnership with Rondo Media, the production company behind popular Welsh TV series ‘Rownd a Rownd’.
Students on Coleg Menai’s creative arts, media, and hair and beauty courses will gain valuable industry experience working alongside the team at Rondo Media.
The students will spend a day in the studio of ‘Rownd a Rownd’ in Llangefni, and will also be mentored beforehand to support their understanding of working on a professional TV set, as well as to answer any questions.
Roles that the students will have the chance to undertake will vary from actors, sound technicians and camera operators, to directors, editors, and hair and make-up artists.
It is hoped that the project will take place twice a year, once in the autumn term and in the spring term each, providing plenty of opportunity for students to participate.
Fflur Rees Jones, assistant principal at Coleg Menai, said: “We are extremely excited to work with Rondo Media and are very grateful to them for providing our students with this fantastic opportunity.
“The experience our students will gain will be second to none, and will certainly support them when looking for work after college.”
‘Rownd a Rownd’ executive producer, Bedwyr Rees, said: “'Rownd a Rownd’ is an important employer for television industry workers in North Wales.
“As we embark on this important partnership with Coleg Menai, we can inspire the next generation of employees and hopefully show them the employment opportunities available in this exciting sector of work.”
