AS levels of coronavirus continue to decline across the nation, Public Health Wales can show exactly how different communities in Anglesey and Gwynedd compare.
The mapping feature was first added to the daily update provided by health officials in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2020.
It presents data broken down beyond the standard local authority areas that people could previously access and now shows how individual communities compare.
The data is gathered using Office of National Statistics figures of middle layer super output areas (MSOAs) and present the rolling number of cases in either a seven-day or 21-day window.
Darker areas indicate higher concentrations of the virus whilst lighter areas show lower transmission rates.

Here’s what we found in Anglesey:
The figures show that, during the latest seven-day period, the Llangefni area had recorded the most new coronavirus reports with 17 cases at a rate of 240.2 cases per 100,000 people.
• Amlwch and Llannerch-y-medd – Four cases and rate of 46.1 cases per 100,000 people
• Beaumaris and Benllech – 16 cases and rate of 189.3 cases per 100,000 people
• Bodedern and Rhosneigr – 10 cases and rate of 138.9 cases per 100,000 people
• Holyhead – 10 cases and rate of 93.3 cases per 100,000 people
• Llain-goch and Valley – 10 cases and rate of 136.6 cases per 100,000 people
• Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll and Menai Bridge – 12 cases and rate of 192.6 cases per 100,000 people
• Llangefni – 17 cases and rate of 240.2 cases per 100,000 people
• Newborough – 15 cases and rate of 188.8 cases per 100,000 people
• Rhos-y-Bol, Marian-glas and Moelfre – Five cases and rate of 77.9 cases per 100,000 people
Here’s what we found in Gwynedd:
The data shows that Gwynedd has very little in terms of newly reported COVID cases, with the majority of the county reporting less than three cases in communities and has the lowest levels in North Wales.
The figures reveal that the Bangor South area has been recording the most new coronavirus reports with 19 cases. This was also the highest concentration of cases too at a rate of 228.1 cases per 100,000 people.

• Bala and Mawddwy – 0-2 cases and rate of less than 34 cases per 100,000 people
• Bangor City – 12 cases and rate of 125.1 cases per 100,000 people
• Bangor South – 19 cases and rate of 228.1 cases per 100,000 people
• Barmouth and Dolgellau – Six cases and rate of 90.7 cases per 100,000 people
• Bethel and Llanrug – 0-2 cases and rate of less than 30 cases per 100,000 people
• Bethesda – 12 cases and rate of 130.6 cases per 100,000 people
• Blaenau Ffestiniog and Trawsfynydd – Four cases and rate of 61.6 cases per 100,000 people
• Caernarfon East – Six cases and rate of 70.3 cases per 100,000 people
• Caernarfon West and Waunfawr – Four cases and rate of 59.8 cases per 100,000 people
• Cricieth and Llanaelhaearn – 0-2 cases and rate of less than 29 cases per 100,000 people
• Harlech and Llanbedr – 0-2 cases and rate of less than 34 cases per 100,000 people
• Llanberis and Deiniolen – 14 cases and rate of 192.9 cases per 100,000 people
• Pen-y-groes, Tal-y-sarn and Dyffryn Nantlle – Three cases and rate of 37.7 cases per 100,000 people
• Porthmadog – Six cases and rate of 85.5 cases per 100,000 people
• Pwllheli and Morfa Nefyn – Three cases and rate of 35.6 cases per 100,000 people
• Tywyn and Llandelynnin – 0-2 cases and rate of less than 27 cases per 100,000 people
