Three Sixth Form students attending Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi have prepared Christmas Cheer packs for some of the island’s young people who may face homelessness.
Working towards their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, Molly, Antonia, and Georgia have put together over 35 Christmas Cheer packs, with the support Anglesey’s Youth Service Team.
The packs, which include festive food items, toiletries and stocking filler gifts, will be given to young people supported by Digartref on the island.
Georgia, Antonia and Molly appealed for and collected the donations, and then, during their spare time, over their lunch breaks and after school, put the packs together. The packs will then be distributed to Supported Living venues by Anglesey Council’s Children Services.
Adam Williams, Head Teacher of Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi, said: “The school, and the local community in Holyhead are immensely proud of these girls. A big thank you to the pupils, parents, and members of the public who have donated towards this cause.”
Rhys H Hughes, Director of Education, Young People & Skills, said: “Antonia, Molly and Georgia are a real credit to Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi.
"These packs will go a long way, and will certainly spread a little festive cheer during these difficult times."
