A GROUP of dead starlings have been discovered in Gwynedd, just months after mystery surrounded the death of more than two hundred of the birds on Anglesey.
North Wales Police's Rural Crime Team announced earlier today that their latest discovery has been made in Criccieth.
A spokesperson said: "More dead starlings have been recovered, this time from the Wales Coastal Path near Cricieth. Don’t be alarmed.
"We think this is a natural phenomenon. No 5G, no UFOs and hopefully no criminality. They are being recovered for toxicology tests."
Around 225 starlings were found on a back road in Bodedern, Anglesey, on December 10, 2019.
Initial findings into the birds’ unusual deaths were revealed in a series of Tweets by the Rural Crime Team - with “murmuration” - or swooping in a large group - being cited as the reason.
They say the birds may have taken avoidant action whilst airborne. Some of them are thought to have struck the ground as they pulled back up.
